Pete Tao

Pete is not a native Texan, but does all he can to claim Texas as his home state. After graduating high school in Baytown, TX, Pete attended the University of Texas, graduating with a BS in Electrical Engineering and followed that up with a MSEE from Southern Methodist University in Dallas. Pete’s professional career has followed a high-technology path starting in Dallas, moving back to Austin with technologies ranging from chip design, to telecommunications to his latest position in video communications. Pete likes to say that pick-up basketball started his journey to know Christ. He met his first pastor while playing hoops, ended up attending his church, followed by being baptized in the cool waters of Barton Creek and then his first ministry appointment into that church’s teen youth group.
Pete first attended Hill Country Bible Church Northwest in 2001 and was excited to join this small band of folks with the passion and vision for starting a church in Dripping Springs, especially considering that Pete and his family have lived in Dripping Springs since 1992. Pete is married to Gwen and they have three boys: Caleb (9), Cody (9) and Isaiah (5).
Along with spending time with his family, Pete’s interests include officiating D-1 college football, playing pick-up basketball and chasing golf balls.
