Jason McNutt – Lead Pastor/Elder

Jason is originally from the Austin area. After graduating from high school in Georgetown, TX, Jason attended the University of Texas and graduated with a BBA and commissioned into the United States Air Force. Jason became a pilot in the Air Force and actively flew for the last 10 years. During this time God began to work on his heart and finally Jason began his relationship with Jesus. Continuing to fly in the Air Force, Jason felt called to full time ministry and soon became a circuit preacher for local churches in northern Louisiana.

There he was asked to become the pastor for a small church just north of Shreveport. Jason served as pastor for over 3 years while still on active duty in the Air Force. He has received seminary training from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. The opportunity came to see if God was leading his family away from the military and to actively pursue returning to the Austin area. This opportunity came and God allowed Jason and his family to leave the military and move to Austin to join with Hill Country Bible Church Northwest and start a new church in the Austin area.

Jason and his family moved in September 2008 from Bossier City, LA to the Austin area. Jason began the residency program at Hill Country Bible Church and after much searching his family chose to settle in Dripping Springs. Jason and his family are excited to see how God will work in this community.

Jason is married to Mandi and they have three boys: Cole (16), Alex (6) and Andrew (4).

Chris Gates – Worship Pastor

Chris is a Louisiana native with a love for reaching those far from God. After working many jobs struggling to find his place, Chris became passionate about evangelism. This led to bringing the gospel to many places that others ignored. God also began to move Chris to a greater serving role and eventually leading him to full time ministry. Chris has attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, in Fort Worth, TX (2003-2006) and Louisiana Missionary Baptist Institute and Seminary in Minden, LA (1997-1998). It was only later that Chris discovered a passion and talent for music. He has served as a worship leader for Trinity Baptist Church and Redeemer Fellowship in Shreveport, La. Because of this later move to music, Chris is a pastor first and music leader second. Chris is married to Amy and they have three children: Christian (5), Piper (3) and Benjamin (1).
