2 Peter 3:1-18

If you don’t believe in the doctrine of judgment day, that some day a completely impartial judge will stand on the earth, and everything will be put right, and no one will get away with everything, and everything will be rectified, if you don’t believe that, it pushes you to the extremes. There’s no other way than to either become cynical or to become a desperate burned-out activist, but a person who believes in the doctrine of judgment day … On the one hand, it sharpens your sense of justice, so you work against injustice. On the other hand, it calms you out, because it assures you, in the end, the right must and will inevitably triumph.
