It is hard to imagine that we have been gathering remotely for over two months.  We had an Easter celebration unlike any of us can ever remember.  I am thankful that we’ve seen the power that raised Jesus from the grave is at work in His church today.  I’m also thankful for your faithful commitment to meeting together during Sunday worship, Real Life Groups and the many new Bible studies and support gatherings via technology.  Continue in your faithful obedience to meet (Hebrews 10:25)!

As we gradually move toward reopening, I want to share thoughts and direction from church leadership.  Foremost, we will continue to monitor guidance coming from government officials and subject matter experts.  We realize that many signals are confusing.  Know that your safety, your unique needs and spiritual health factor into our direction and decisions.

During this transition, we will remain one church.  As such, we will continue streaming the service live at 10:15. You can find us on YouTube Live, Facebook Live, through the HCBCDS app or hcbcds.com/live. For those of you wishing to worship in the building, please make sure you RSVP.  As the number of folks increase, we want to make sure we can continue to maintain the social distancing protocols we put in place in mid-May.

Decisions on REALife Group meetings should be made by each group in order to meet each group’s specific concerns and circumstances.  This holds true for other groups getting together as well. Jay Owen ([email protected]) is available if you have questions, needs or are looking to join with others in community.

The elders and other group leaders recently began surveying our partners and regular attenders to gather insight into your needs. Those included factors under consideration for returning to in-building worship, ministry needs while streaming and other ministry opportunities you see. If you haven’t heard from anyone, please let the church office know and we will make sure to gather your input.

Finally, in March we asked that if you are finding financial difficulties due to lack of hours at work or complete work halt please contact Steve Isgitt ([email protected]) for assistance. If you have other needs or know someone without a church family, please share that information with Steve as well.  That offer continues.  We would like to make sure we are being a blessing to each other and the community especially as the situation evolves.

We will look for ways to stay connected with one another during this season and we are thankful that we have the technological innovations that make this possible. Feel free to use Zoom, Skype, Facetime, emails and phone calls to check on one another and remind each other that though we may be physically apart for a short time, we are connected in Christ.

If you have any questions please email or call the church office.
