Elders & Pastors

Hill Country Bible Church is Jesus-ruled and elder-led. We operate under the authority of an elder board comprised of the lead pastor and multiple lay elders. Pastoral staff functions under the elders and accomplishes the vision and mission of the church while pastoring, training, equipping and leading the members of the church. 

Jason McNutt

Lead Pastor/Elder

Jason is originally from the Austin area. He graduated from the University of Texas with a BBA and commissioned into the United States Air Force as a pilot.

After serving over 10 years, God began to move Jason to full time ministry. He served both active duty and as a biovcational pastor. Jason and his family moved to Dripping Springs in 2008 to start Hill Country Bible Church.

Jason is happily married to Mandi and they have three boys: Cole (22), Alex (12), and Andrew (10).

Rob Anderssen

Elder

Rob and his family moved to the Dripping Springs area in 2014 after pastoring a church in Smithville, TX for 6 years. Having served in the Army as a medic for 5 years, Rob followed God’s call into ministry by graduating from Practical Bible College with a Bachelor in Christian Counseling, followed by a 3 year pastorate in Apalachin, NY. Rob is currently a hospice chaplain in Austin and serves HCBCDS by teaching, coaching men’s softball, and leading the Real Life Groups.

Rob is married 27 years to his high school sweetheart Sheila, and they have three grown children. His hobbies include most sports, dating his wife, and mentoring at the Burke Center for Youth.

Rob is learning everyday what it means to rest in the finished work of Christ and is inspired by his two favorite verses: 2 Corinthians 5.21: “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”  And Romans 8.1: “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”

Bill Crook

Elder

Bill and his wife Caryl moved to Dripping Springs in the fall of 2015.  They have two married daughters, a son and three grandchildren in the area.  Bill is originally from San Marcos and he and Caryl lived in Wimberley for several years when they were first married.  He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin.  Before moving to Dripping Springs they lived in Corpus Christi for some twenty-four years, where Bill owned an automobile dealership and a construction company.

Bill grew up attending church and became a Christian at a young age, but his faith and God’s grace became increasingly real to him during his college years.  He has been active in several ministries and involved in teaching Bible classes.
Bill enjoys being outdoors and land and wildlife management.  He is grateful to be back in the Hill Country.

David Edwards

Elder

Dave and his wife, Becky, moved to Dripping Springs in 1983. Their two daughters live in Austin, and they have four grandchildren. Dave was reared in Slaton, Texas, near Lubbock, and he received his BBA from Texas Tech. He currently works at Broadway Bank in Dripping Springs and is grateful for the blessing of being able to work, worship, and live all in the same community.

He has served in various church leadership positions, including that of deacon, since becoming a Christian in his mid-20’s. He and Becky joined HCBCDS, approximately eight years ago.

Mark Lander

Elder

Mark Lander has lived and worked in Dripping Springs since 1999. Both Mark and his wife Lisa grew up in Austin, where they were married some 38 years ago. They have two grown children and one new baby granddaughter. Mark came to Christ late in in life and was baptized in the Methodist Church at the age of 36, where he later served in various lay leadership capacities, and finally as the Chairperson for the Administrative Council. In addition to being an Elder at Hill Country Bible Church, Mark is a member of the local Hays Praise Emmaus Community, and serves as a Mentor at The Burke Center for Youth, and with the Dripping Springs Christian Academy. 

Don Rollins

Elder

Don moved with his family from San Diego, California, to Wimberley in August 2005 after an exhaustive search of less crowded places to live in America.

Professionally, Don has been in the Information Technology field since leaving the Air Force in 1984. After a full career in IT, Don completed his BS in Organizational Leadership from the Bible Institute of Los Angeles (BIOLA) university in 2001. He went on to teach there for over three years as an adjunct professor before moving to Wimberley and becoming a full-time high school teacher.

Don and his wife Cindy have two sons, Darby recently graduated from Louisiana College and Adam recently graduated Texas State.

Brian Storm

Elder

Brian and his wife, Valerie, moved from the Chicago area to Dripping Springs in 2015 with a job transfer. He is an Electrical Engineer that has spent the last 24 years designing integrated circuits for cellular telephones after beginning his professional career with 10 years at the NSA. His childhood was spent in Irian Jaya, Trinidad and Venezuela as the son of church planting missionaries.

He has been active in the local church for all of his adult life serving in youth work, worship teams, small group leadership and young adult ministries. He has a passion for the local church to be a visible representation of the God that we serve, even in our imperfection, pursuing and encouraging one another on to be transformed into the image of His Son.

Brian and Valerie have 4 grown children and 3 grandchildren and he enjoys woodworking, grilling and the outdoors.

Steve Isgitt

Associate Pastor

Steve is originally from Houston.  After graduating from Texas Tech University he worked in the retail automobile business for 25 years, then owned and operated an auto repair business for the next 13 years. This business was sold in 2011 and he moved home full time to Wimberley.

Originally a bible major in college, he has always had a love for the church, and has served as an elder and lay minister for many years.

He is very grateful to have this opportunity to serve God and Hill Country Bible Church in Dripping Springs. He also teaches Bible courses at Dripping Springs Christian Academy.

Steve is married to Bren, and has two children and four grandchildren.

Paul Singleton

Associate Pastor

Paul is a Texan who grew up all over the state. After graduating from Duncanville High School he joined the Army, serving as a Combat Medic with Alpha Company 326th Engineer Battalion in the 101st Airborne for Operation Iraqi Freedom and other theaters. He left the Army as a Sergeant in 2009.

In August of 2016,Paul graduated from DTS with a MA Christian Leadership and a MA Biblical Studies.

Paul married Laura (who graduated from DTS with a ThM) in November of 2007 and they have 2 sons, Connor and Joshua. He is a motorcycle enthusiast, a sci-fi fan, and loves a good cup of coffee.
